The Glen Workshop: Scholarships from Image Journal on Vimeo.
*NOTE: There are two Glen East classes with scholarship funds that are still available: Songwriting with The Welcome Wagon and Playwriting with Arlene Hutton. We are accepting scholarship applications on a rolling basis until all funds are allotted. If you'd like to submit an application, please email us at glenworkshop@imagejournal.org. All Glen West classes are open for scholarship applications until end of day March 15, 2012.
We're thankful for another generous grant from the Davis Foundation that will enable us to continue to increase our scholarship opportunities in 2012. Full and partial scholarships are available for both Glen West and Glen East, to be awarded based on both need and quality of work. You may apply to any class, even if it's closed for registration. However, if you wish to guarantee a spot in a workshop, even if you do not win a scholarship, you must register for an available workshop and pay the $150 deposit. All writers, visual artists, and songwriters are invited to apply! **No scholarships are available for seminar classes.
To apply for a scholarship, send the following three items:
1) a manuscript of no more than ten pages in length
OR slides (digital or regular) or good color copies of your visual art
OR or a CD of three original songs, preferably recent works
2) a cover letter explaining your need
3) a completed registration form stating your class and housing preference.
Send the above to: Image, The Glen Workshop, 3307 Third Avenue West, Seattle, WA 98119. Or email it here.
The final deadline for applications is January 15 for East and March 15 for West. All applicants will be notified within three weeks of the deadline.
