Image is not only about celebrating the great art and writing of the present. We also have an investment in the future. As we see it, our mission is nothing less than the transformation of culture. That happens when we nourish the creative minds that will engage the Judeo-Christian tradition in the generations to come.
Our two fellowship programs, the Milton Center and the Luci Shaw Fellowship, are dedicated to the growth of young and emerging artists. These programs provide time for creativity and community-building and expose a new crop of writers and artists to the challenge of high standards in the context of a nurturing and supportive environment.
Gifted postgraduate writers are able to make major strides in their development through our Milton Center Fellowship, a program that gives them a year of peace and quiet to complete a first book—as well as the camaraderie of the weekly Milton Center Workshop.
College students working in all creative disciplines are able to explore vocations in the world of art and faith at the Image office in Seattle through summer internships as Luci Shaw Fellows.
“Your generosity in bringing me here has altered my life in so many ways; I don’t know that I will ever be quite the same again.”
—First-time novelist Linda Wendling, Milton Fellow
“One of the most enriching experiences of my life.”
