John Moody

Artist Statement: I am an Episcopal Priest, artist, curator, and art administrator. I live and work in New York City and in the Taconic Hills, upstate. I work abstractly, largely on canvas and paper, inspired by works from nature. In recent years I have helped curate museum exhibits focusing on current art and spiritual meaning. I co-curated a Manhattan-wide, interfaith Stations of the Cross, from the Cloisters to Ground Zero, which included a contemporary art for meditation and as pilgrimage. Now ninety-three, I find myself living and working safely at home, with more time talking and relating to younger artists and cultural critics who seem to be interested in the thoughts of one with such a long history. That kind of interest works both ways.
