We are pleased to present an Image Intensive workshop with Melissa Pritchard!

Vision to Revision: the Six Elements of Craft in Fiction

with Melissa Pritchard

A three-week craft workshop on fiction
September 29-October 17

Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 2-3:15 PM Eastern

We are pleased to announce another Image Intensive, an opportunity to dive deeper into your craft, guided by faculty from our community who understand the unique impulses and challenges facing artists at the intersection of art and faith.

From our facilitator, Melissa Pritchard:

Understanding the six major elements of craft in fiction writing is essential to creating powerful stories and novels. Over nine classes, we will study:
  • narrative structures (plot)
  • character
  • setting (time and place)
  • language (style)
  • ethical pressure
  • revision
"Because this business of becoming conscious, of being a writer, is ultimately about asking yourself, 'How alive am I willing to be?'"
      Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

In a small-group setting capped at 12 students, participants will experience:

  1. 75-minute sessions three times a week over 3 weeks
  2. Each class will include a craft talk with literary examples, short writing exercises, in-class discussion, and questions.
  3. In-depth feedback and editorial notes on one manuscript (up to 3000 words each).

This workshop is for fiction writers of all levels. If you are yearning for a compassionate writing community, seeking to learn more about yourself, hoping for a thorough review of your work, or wishing for a supportive place to grow in your craft, this workshop is for you.

$895

This four-week seminar will be held on Zoom on Tuesdays and Thursdays from August 29-September 21.
