you don’t remember the deer on the side of the highway.

its bottom half broken into the cement and its head

rising upward. both eyes blinking trying to see or trying

not to see. to place the logic of the visible at the service of the invisible

Odilon Redon writes of painting a vase of flowers. a specular

assembled without will.
