Poetry

AudioRead by the author.

Every morning this gathering.
———This scraping of the what-is-

this? from the dew-cramped
——-grass. And every morning

the choice. How much.
———Whether or not to.

And always the same
——-decision made—and

of course for reasons
———most admirable. Most

selfless. For the love
——-of some good thing or

another: a daughter,
———a nation, the spoils of war

divided fairly. But every
———morning the same decision.

Then the worms.
